Torque and temperature limitations: Polyamide housings are less suitable for very large valves, high breakaway torque, steam service, and severe process temperatures. Aluminium and stainless-steel actuators remain stronger in these duties.

Material-performance concerns: Moisture absorption, ultraviolet exposure, thermal expansion, and chemical attack can affect housing stability when the wrong resin or reinforcement system is selected.

Competition from coated aluminium: Rilsan-coated, epoxy-coated, and cataphoresis-treated aluminium actuators offer corrosion protection with a broader torque range. This limits polyamide adoption in demanding industrial installations.
