Opportunities and Business Insights

Emerging markets offer the largest volume upside.
India, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and parts of the Middle East still have room to formalize feed systems. As more farms shift from loose feed practices to compound feed and premix use, additive inclusion rises. Poultry will move first. Dairy and aquaculture will follow as technical support improves.

Precision nutrition can reduce feed cost pressure.
Feed remains the largest operating cost in animal production. Additives that improve digestibility, reduce crude protein needs, support gut health, or protect feed quality can help producers manage cost volatility. New microbial, enzyme, and methane-reduction additives need safety and efficacy review in many markets. This protects the industry, but it also slows commercialization.

Some additives work differently depending on diet quality, species, farm hygiene, climate stress, disease pressure, and management practices. This makes technical support critical. It also raises the bar for suppliers that want long-term repeat business.

Expert view: The best commercial opportunities will sit where additives solve measurable farm problems. Claims around “natural,” “sustainable,” or “advanced” will help only when backed by feed conversion, survival, milk yield, growth, or cost-per-kilogram data.
