France Heart Transplant market size is estimates to be $XX million in 2022. Heart failure (HF), one of the main causes of hospitalizations and mortality, is a significant burden on French healthcare systems. The estimated annual cost of HF management is €2.5 billion, with hospital stays making up 30% of the total cost and by far being the most expensive cost component. Government agencies are beginning to recognize the burden that chronic illnesses like HF place on society and are revamping the healthcare system with a focus on community-based care. An HF care pathway guide released by the High Authority of Health has been effective in enhancing national HF care. However, specialists claim that the importance of care integration is not sufficiently appreciated, and HF management is still somewhat fragmented, with multidisciplinary care being uncommon. Although telemedicine services have seen an increase in use and funding in the field of heart failure (HF), mainstream adoption of these programs remains at the best spot, and there are large disparities in HF care across the nation.
Chronic heart failure was listed as the primary cause of death for an average of 27,700 fatalities per year, or 47.5 deaths per every 100,000 people, during the five years from 1992 to 1996. Chronic heart failure was listed as the most common discharge diagnosis in French public hospitals over the three years from 1995 to 1997, accounting for 108 000 hospital admissions yearly, or 13.3 per 1000 hospital discharges.11 325 of the 108 000 hospitalizations for chronic heart failure per year resulted in fatalities. Age significantly affected both mortality and hospitalization rates for chronic heart failure, with people over 85 having the highest fatality rate (1413.9 per 100 000) and hospitalization rate (65.3 per 1000 hospital discharges), respectively.
A retrospective analysis was performed on all adult fatalities in France from 1992 to 1996 and all adult chronic heart failure discharges from public hospitals in France from 1995 to 1997. First, both in the general population and subgroups separated by age and sex, deaths from chronic heart failure occurred in France with a startling yearly periodicity and peaked in the winter (December through January). The distribution of total monthly deaths varied by over 35%, peaking in January at 20% above average and falling to 15% below average in August.
